According to the fixed tariff in 2015-16, the average capacity tariff was Rs 2.78 per unit but now with the addition of new power plants under the power policy of 2015, the capacity tariff has increased to Rs 18.39 per unit for the next financial year 2025.

The main reason for this is the decline in the value of the rupee, which has increased by 97 rupees to 278 rupees against the dollar. In addition, due to the highest tariff in the entire region, consumers in Pakistan have also limited the use of electricity.

Due to this, the capacity payment has also increased, at this time consumers are paying 1083 billion rupees per year to pay off loans, these loans were mostly taken for power generation, 218 billion rupees for operation and maintenance. I was taken.
